Live Hope Laugh The Alexis Ross Foundation
Live Hope Laugh was founded in the fall of 2010. It was founded with the mission of impacting the lives of children and teenagers living with a chronic illness. Alexis Ross was diagnosed with type one diabetes in October of 2008. Not long after the diagnoses, she began raising money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; however, she decided it wasn’t enough and wanted to help more. So, her and her family talked it over and decided to do something bigger and that’s when Live Hope Laugh was created! The first year we started out small only being able to help three families at Christmas, but now this past Christmas of 23′ we helped over 100 families! Every year we strive to help more!
Who We Help
Ten to twenty million children and adolescents in the United States have some form of chronic illness or disability. Chronic refers to a health condition that lasts anywhere from three months to a lifetime. We do our little (and huge) part by helping local families right here in Carroll County. They are families with low income that also have to brave the cost and time for special medical care for their child. We are here to help them live, give them hope, and most of all to laugh out loud. Through Christmas dinners and fulfilling wish lists, school supply distribution, and monthly outings we strive to make every child smile!
